Earth Fairy Akitas and Mini Australian Shepherds
Loveable, gentle giants and mini's!!

Welcome

WELCOME TO EARTH FAIRY AKITA'S and MINI AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS.

Hi, my name is Rene Palmer.  Leonard and I fell in love with the breed over 10 years ago.  We bought our first Akita, Grizzly, in 1999.  He has been a wonderful companion and watch dog.  He is great with our kids and grandchild.  He is definitely spoiled as he sleeps at the foot of our bed and loves to be with us anywhere we go.  He has also had the privilege of visiting my parents farm in the summers.

We bought Nikki in 2005 and Grizzly took right to her.  They make a wonderful team and I am very thankful to have both of them.  Nikki is also very spoiled as she actually sleeps in our bed and loves to be around all the children.  She keeps a watchful eye on them when I have to run downstairs to switch the laundry.  She is very gentle and loving as the kids pull, poke and play with her.

Akita's are not for everyone as they get very big.  The males can be 100 lbs and up,  easily, and females usually range from 80-120 lbs themselves.  There are some wonderful books out on Akita's if you are looking into purchasing a puppy.  Any local book store should carry books on this breed.  Barnes and Noble carries a book called A New Owner's Guide to Akita's, Vol 35, by Barbara J. Andrews. It is a hard cover, white book with red trim and a silver, black and white Akita on the front.  This is a wonderful book to purchase to get to know the breed.

We are adding Miniature Australian Shepherd to our kennel this summer. I have a dam that is expecting at the end of may.  (Pictures to come.)  I chose this breed because my mother has one and I thought he was beautiful.  I loved how friendly he is and gentle with the children.  His name is Alley.  He is always there to greet us after our long trips and loves to sit in our laps and cuddle.  He is a non working Aussie, but he is very much loved by all.  I am looking forward to having this new family of Aussie's with us and our Akita's.  If you are interested in one of Maxi's pups this summer (around the end of July) Please contact us by hitting the highlighted portion below.  I am also putting up some Aussie puppies for sale along with adults.  (Refer to to the mini Aussie puppy page.) I am helping out a friend who has chosen to retire from the breeding business. Kelly's information will be provided along with her dogs/puppies.  If you do not see what you are looking for there is an Akita breed and another Aussie Breeder on the referral breeder page

Feel free to contact us. Grizzly and Nikki receive their yearly examination and shots by our local Veterinarian.  They are a very reliable clinic with a super staff.  I consult with them on any questions or concerns I have with Nikki and Grizzly, especially breeding.  We also take the puppies to them for their shots, de worming, examinations, and health certifications.  We are very privileged to have such a wonderful Vet's office.

Please email us or contact us if you have any questions, comments, or are interested in the next litter.  Don't forget to check out our photo album, and sign our guest book.  Thank you.
