WELCOME TO EARTH FAIRY AKITA'S!

Hi, my name is Rene Palmer.  Leonard and I fell in love with the breed over 10 years ago.  We bought our first Akita, Grizzly, in 1999.  He has been a wonderful companion and watch dog.  He is great with our kids and grandchild.  He is definitely spoiled as he sleeps at the foot of our bed and loves to be with us anywhere we go.  He has also had the privilege of visiting my parents farm in the summers.

We bought Nikki in 2005 and Grizzly took right to her.  They make a wonderful team and I am very thankful to have both of them.  Nikki is also very spoiled as she actually sleeps in our bed and loves to be around all the children.  She keeps a watchful eye on them when I have to run downstairs to switch the laundry.  She is very gentle and loving as the kids pull, poke and play with her.      Her last litter will be in 2010 and she will retire as our family dog.
We have also added Indy from a wonderful breeder in Michigan.  He will be my daughters dog.
Grizzly has retired and is enjoying the warmth of our family and home.  In the summer of 2010, we will hopefully be adding another male to our family.
We added Sydney to our family in the middle of winter in 2008 / 2009 and she has a wonderful and very playful personality.  We love her to pieces.
In July of 2009, We added Natasha from Kojokan Akitas!!  She is laid back and very playful. I look forward to breeding her and seeing her puppies in 2011.
Gunner was added in the fall of 2009. He is a beautiful red/fawn pinto with white and a white mask.  He is full of energy and keeps us laughing.  He will very much be the dominant... LOL as he loves to think he is taking us for  a walk with the leash in his mouth as we take him outside!!  We look forward to his litters in the winter of 2011 and for many years after.

Akita's are not for everyone as they get very big.  The males can be 100 lbs and up,  easily, and females usually range from 80-120 lbs themselves.  There are some wonderful books out on Akita's if you are looking into purchasing a puppy.  Any local book store should carry books on this breed.  Barnes and Noble carries a book called A New Owner's Guide to Akita's, Vol 35, by Barbara J. Andrews. It is a hard cover, white book with red trim and a silver, black and white Akita on the front.  This is a wonderful book to purchase to get to know the breed.

Feel free to contact us. Grizzly, Sydney, Indy and Nikki receive their yearly examination and shots by our local Veterinarian.  They are a very reliable clinic with a super staff.  I consult with them on any questions or concerns I have with Nikki and Grizzly, especially breeding.  We also take the puppies to them for their shots, de worming, examinations, and health certifications.  We are very privileged to have such a wonderful Vet's office.

Please email us or contact us if you have any questions, comments, or are interested in the next litter.  Don't forget to check out our photo album, and sign our guest book.  Thank you.
